Physical Education Class
There are so many positive things happening at PMS in regards to living happy, healthy lives! Let me tell you about them:
•
Every morning we are dancing as a whole school in order to increase our heart
rate and start the morning off on a healthy note.
• We
are only serving 100% juice, 1% milk, and water to our students. This is to
decrease the amount of sugar intake.
•
The students are running ¼ mile every day at recess in order to increase
their muscular endurance and in hopes that they can increase their CT Fitness
Test scores.
• The classrooms are having periodic fitness breaks in order to keep the
students fresh and ready to learn.
• We have incorporated a Staff Wellness Program
that meets twice each week to exercise. The staff at PMS believes strongly in
keeping their students healthy but also in keeping themselves healthy as well.
• We have implemented a Monthly Exercise Calendar, that you can find on
our homepage, in hopes that ALL children will incorporate physical activity
into their daily lives at home.
• All P.E. classes involve fitness in order to increase
muscular strength and endurance as well as flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.
