Exploring Expertise is a conference held at UCONN for students in grades 8-12 and their parents. It will be held on May 14th from 9-3:30 at the Storrs campus. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about career paths, college preparation and to meet UCONN faculty. This cost to register is $99 and the deadline is April 29th. There will be an open house at QVCC on Feb.3rd at 6:00p.m. at the Danielson Campus. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend this program.

A Financial Aid Night will be held at QVCC on Dec. 9th @ 5:30 p.m. All college bound seniors and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend this informational session. If you have any questions please contact your child's school counselor.

The College Board will be unable to deliver SAT scores from the Oct. test on November 5th as planned. The College Board has confirmed that if a student wants to wait to find out their score before registering for the Dec. 2015 test, they will not incur a late fee. Students can work with SAT customer service at 866-765-7346 for their registration.

The SAT/PSAT school wide test day will be held during the school day on Wednesday October 14, 2015. Seniors will be taking the SAT, juniors and sophomores will be taking the PSAT and freshmen will be participating in grade 9 assessments on that day.

To all parents of seniors attending college in the fall: You may now apply for a PIN number for the FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid). Go to fafsa.ed.gov and hit PIN site. Both student and parents will need separate PIN numbers. Getting a PIN number now will allow you to begin your FAFSA as early as January 1st. Please only use the website mentioned. This is a free form and other websites will charge a fee.

To all parents of seniors attending college in the fall: Eastern Connecticut State University is offering to help families fill out the FAFSA. The event is called "College Goal Sunday" and is on January 25th from 1:30 until 4:30. You must register to attend this event at collegegoalsundayct.org.

PHS Juniors will be participating in mock interviews on December 16th. Community business mentors will interview Juniors and counsel students on interviewing skills and guidelines.
